Do's and Don'ts
Do visit Jose Marti Park. It's technically Cuban soil. Ybor City also has great cigars.
Don’t pay more for a room with a view; you won't be there enough to enjoy it.
Do check out the Salvador Dali Museum
in nearby St. Petersburg.Don’t try to recover that golf ball that's close to the water hazard. Alligators are everywhere, assume that water hazard is occupied. Gators can move at 30mph over 10 yards, so it's better to lose a ball than a limb.
Do check out Big Cat Rescue which is a Dolphin-spotting tour or kayak with manatees. Tampa's a great place for wildlife enthusiasts.
Do eat your weight in Cuban food. Cuban sandwiches, filete salteado and pernil asado and other outstanding Cuban dishes can easily be found in Tampa
Don’t visit during peak travel season. Most people visit during the summer or winter.
Do visit in the spring or fall. You'll find the best bargains during the so-called shoulder season.

Please note that on-site car rental agencies are open according to the airline flight schedule and adjust operating hours accordingly, staying open 30 minutes after the last arriving flight. Some rental agencies may not have adjusted their reservation systems for late night flights. When making reservations for flights after normal business hours, choose the latest reservation time available and note your flight number.
